Welcome to Basic Ballroom Dance Studios!

Who We Are:

Since our grand opening in 2008 our studio is committed to providing exceptional dance instruction in a fun, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. It is our continued goal to build a dance community that provides comfort and convenience to all students, staff and independent teachers, professional and amateur dancers. We teach students of all levels and all ages. Students can sign up for group or private lessons at any of our locations. We offer weekly practice dance parties, nights out on the town, participation in Regional, National and International competitions, as well as fun trips to many different dance events.

What We Teach:

Latin and Rhythm Dances

For competitive dancing, the Latin dance styles are grouped into two main categories: American Rhythm and International Latin. The American Rhythm style consists of five dances: Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero and Mambo. The International Latin style also consists of five dances: Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble and Samba. When comparing the two styles, the most obvious difference is that they each have some unique dances. However, all the dances in each style do differ from their counterparts, in subtle ways, mostly having to do with technique. You will find competitive events in each style.

Standard and Smooth Dances

There are two main categories when talking about Standard Dancing – The International Standard and American Smooth. The International Standard style includes five dances: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep. This style is danced widely in competitions, both in the United States and throughout the world. The most obvious trait of the International Standard style is the dancers’ constant closed position, where the two dance partners never lose contact (as opposed to American Smooth style, where couples often open up, and dance apart from each other). The Standard dances are also characterized by their very precise elements of technique: footwork, rise & fall, amounts of turn, etc. From this technique emerges a unique elegance and beauty. Four of the Standard dances have their American-style counterparts. The American Smooth dances consist of: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz. In the American Smooth style, partners often separate from closed dance position, and dance apart from each other. American Smooth is quite popular at social dances, and is danced at major competition events across the United States. This is an expressive style that can be extremely fun to dance and watch.

Social Dances

All competitive dances can be taught on a social level. There are also non-competitive dances that are widely known and extremely popular such as Merengue, Hustle, Salsa and Argentine Tango. Basic Ballroom is an amazing professional ballroom dancesport school, focusing on Latin and Standard ballroom styles. The school caters to both recreational and competitive dancers. The teachers and parents work collaboratively to create a fun, but a structured learning environment. My son has been with the school for 4 years and enjoys both the competitive scene and the showcase performances. The school hosts seminars and workshops for the students with world champions as guest teachers. They offer an intensive summer camp, which is super fun!As a Basic Ballroom parent, and a former dancer myself, and I highly recommend this school. The staff is engaging and supportive. Cost for classes per month, as well as private classes, is reasonable and in-line with other dance programs in the area.

This studio is one of the best studios in the country. It produced multiple United States champions who go on to compete World-wide. Basic Ballroom is much more than just another dance studio. It has wonderful and caring staff, warm atmosphere and great facilities. This studio has been a second home to my kids who found life long friends there. Can't think of any better place I'd rather have my children attend.

I rarely leave any reviews, but here I felt like it’s a must. I have 2 kids - 13 and 10 years old boy and a girl and we do 10 dance. We tried few dance studios before, but honestly saying my kids were never so happy to go to their dance classes up until we joined Basic Ballroom last year. All the teacher are super professional, place is cozy and clean, if you have any questions - the staff is always there for you, amazing end of the year concert, different group classes options, very professional private lessons and very important for us - different dance competition throughout the whole year with just unbelievable support from both of our coaches - Ilya and Sergey and real believe in success. I would definitely recommend this studio - the technique, confidence and self-believe that both of my child developed over this year is outstanding.
